Summer is around the corner. But you have just found out that you are dealing with egg allergies or intolerances. That’s not the news you want to wake up to. Were you looking forward to eggs on toast this morning? Or is there a birthday around the corner and you were planning on making a lovely birthday cake with eggs as an ingredient? Now is the time to be careful.

Times are changing. You are now having to check the ingredients of what we buy in the shops very carefully. Despite all the doom and gloom, there can still be excitement around the corner. Egg intolerances are manageable. If you have taken a test with Allergy Test and your results have shown you have an intolerance and not an allergy, there are some steps to help.

1) Shout it from the rooftops!

On the way to a barbecue outside with friends? Off to AVIVA Stadium to watch the rugby? The chances are you will come across something egg-related (no we’re not talking about the shape of a rugby ball). Regarding the barbecue, let your mates know, they are your friends and will be happy to help. They may supply an alternative food or even make their meals egg-free! You never know.

2) Be Prepared

If indeed you are off to a rugby match, make sure the people you are going with know you have an egg intolerance. They should then also know what to do in case your symptoms flare up. Although you may not want to be the person going on about it, it is important people know. If you’re worried about the food at the match, take a homemade meal. This is perhaps easier and more efficient anyway, but your egg intolerances will be managed as you know exactly what it is in the food.

3) Don’t Worry

It is easy to say, but you should not worry. Egg intolerances are not rare and if managed correctly you can carry on enjoying the Summer you deserve.
